Summer Stough

Summer joined the Tree House staff in July 2016 and was named Head of School in April 2018. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from The University of Alabama. Summer is a graduate of Education for Ministry (EfM), a four-year course developed by The School of Theology of The University of the South. She has experience teaching in both public and private school settings. Summer also has a love for and experience in church ministry and administration. She was Director for Children’s Ministries, preschool teacher, and Parish Administrator at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Birmingham for a combined tenure of twenty years. Originally from Alabama, Summer is no stranger to the Florida panhandle. She frequently vacationed in Seagrove as a child and built a home there in 1990. Summer enjoys exploring coastal dune lakes, the bay and local freshwater springs in her kayak. She and her spirited terrier, Lila Mae, can also be found walking in the woods or along the bike paths when not too crowded. Summer travels as often as possible to see her two children, Julia (28) and son, Kettler (25) who are scattered across the U.S.
