As I sit down to write this lead, the Pointer Sisters’ song “We are Family” is playing in my head. That is exactly how it felt for Emily and me last Sunday as we ate, visited, and were showered with gifts for our baby boy. We felt like we had been adopted into the Christ the King family, and we were humbled, grateful, and delighted. And we commented that our baby boy will not only be born into Emily’s and my own families (which are pretty large as it is), but he will also be born into our church family, and that couldn’t make us happier. After all, it takes a village to raise a child, and we have found our village, and for that we are deeply grateful. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for hosting, planning, executing, and attending the shower for Emily and “Baby Proctor” last week. The food and desserts were amazing, and the gifts just kept coming! We are so excited and so thankful for each and every one of you and your kindness and generosity.
See you Sunday!
