Pastoral Care

IMG_4795Pastoral Care is a ministry of presence and compassion…a ministry that answers Christ’s commandment to “love one another: Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” (John 13:34)

The pastoral caregiver shares and focuses others on God’s loving presence, as an extension of the ministry of Christ.

Pastoral Care Integrates 4 Functions:

  1. Helping to restore others from a state of brokenness to a state of wholeness and a deepening spiritual awareness
  2. Nurturing and supporting others, helping to sustain them and encourage them
  3. Helping those who are hurting to see new truths and gain new perspectives, by offering them a concerned and interested listening ear
  4. Assisting those who are suffering in developing a deeper relationship with God, their neighbors, and with themselves
